Inspired by the pioneering spirit of the McAfee Brothers—who first surveyed the Kentucky lands in 1773—this rye whiskey proudly carries the tradition of exploration and craftsmanship that defines America’s oldest continuously operating distillery.
Crafted from a high rye mash bill (rumored to be Buffalo Trace’s signature rye formula: approximately 51% rye, with balanced corn and malted barley), Benchmark Rye delivers bold spice balanced with just the right touch of sweetness. Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), it opens with inviting aromas of baking spice, cracked black pepper, and vanilla bean. On the palate, expect classic rye flavors of cinnamon, toasted oak, and nutmeg, layered with subtle hints of caramel, citrus zest, and honey.
