Gold Spot Irish Whiskey is a limited edition release from the Spots Whiskey brand. It marries the Spots’ signature ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks with a 17-month finish in Secondo Marco winery’s Valpolicella Classica Italian wine casks. This Irish whiskey features subtle spice notes, with the red wine adding layers of dark fruits and berry compote, creating a softly textured sweetness.
Behind Spot Whiskey is a colorful story. Under the hustle and bustle of cobbled Dublin streets in the early 1900s, a fabled whiskey was making a name for itself. The simple act of marking barrels with spots of colored paint would not only mark their age potential, but would become the namesake for this coveted whiskey, bonded and bottled by the Mitchells - a seventh generation family business. Doing things differently was something the Mitchells passed on to the Spots. This elusive Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is complex in taste and colorful in its history.
