Michter's 10 Year Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is one of our most limited production items, Michter’s 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye continues the legacy of America’s first whiskey variety (rye) from America’s first whiskey company.. After a nearly three year absence from the market, Michter’s then Master Distiller Willie Pratt finally gave the green light for the re-release of Michter’s 10 Year Straight Rye in April 2014.

This highly anticipated annual expression from one of America's most admired distilleries is a testament to the art of patient maturation. Each bottle is drawn from a single barrel, hand-selected only when it reaches its absolute peak of perfection, often well beyond its 10-year age statement. 

Crafted under the watchful eyes of Master Distiller Dan McKee and Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson, the 2025 release continues the Michter's tradition of quality over schedule. This single barrel rye embodies the distinctly Kentucky style, balancing beautiful baking spice with fresh citrus and floral notes, all underpinned by a rich foundation of vanilla, caramel, and sweet oak. It is a sophisticated and layered rye whiskey that has become a benchmark for the category.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: A fascinating trifecta of floral, sweet, and oaky notes. Aromas of lemongrass, spearmint, and dried lavender are beautifully layered with baked apples and a subtle, sweet oakiness.

Palate: Orchard fruit takes the lead with notes of dried apricot and baked apples, which glide across the palate. The classic rye baking spices—cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove—build toward the mid-palate, complemented by notes of toasted almond and a transition from milk to dark chocolate.

Finish: The finish is exceptionally long and more chocolate-forward than recent batches. Lingering notes of dark, spiced apple butter and residual sweet oak provide a sophisticated and memorable conclusion.
