Springbank Local Barley 10 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2025 Edition is part of Springbank Distillery’s highly sought-after Local Barley series, an annual release that showcases whisky made from barley grown specifically for the distillery in the Campbeltown region. This edition uses locally sourced barley and is produced entirely on-site at Springbank, one of the last distilleries in Scotland to conduct floor malting, distillation, maturation, and bottling under one roof.
The whisky is matured for 10 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, allowing the distillery’s signature oily, coastal character to remain evident while adding depth from oak and gentle sherry influence. Bottled at natural strength and without chill filtration, this release reflects Springbank’s traditional production philosophy and emphasis on terroir.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Dried fruits, fig rolls, cereal sweetness, and subtle spice
Palate: Savory malt, dark sugar, gentle fruit, and earthy undertones
