Barrell Bourbon Cask Finish Series: Armagnac showcases how one of the world’s oldest brandy styles can transform bourbon into something deeper and more layered. Select bourbon barrels from Kentucky (10 years), Indiana (7–12 years), and Tennessee (9–15 years) were finished in Armagnac casks. The high proof amplifies bold, spicy-fruity notes while highlighting the harmony between bourbon’s vanilla-caramel sweetness and Armagnac’s rich dried fruit, tobacco, and spice. This special release finished in Armagnac Barrels is bottled at an intense 64.05% ABV (128.1 Proof).
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Deep amber with dark golden hues
Nose: Pineapple brightness over a brooding base of cola, grape soda, ginger beer, caraway, peppercorn, and menthol; dried fruits and nuts evoke a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
Palate: Syrupy sweetness balanced by oak tannin and cask strength heat; hazelnut, black walnut, tobacco, and chocolate-covered espresso beans with a hidden note of watermelon
Finish: Long and decadent; clove and oolong tea join Armagnac-driven plum and custard richness, leaving lingering layers of spice and sweetness
