Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Rye Batch A126 is an uncut, non-chill-filtered rye release bottled straight from the barrel to showcase Heaven Hill’s “Kentucky-style” rye profile at full intensity. Batch A126 carries a substantial age statement—11 years and 11 months—which gives it a mature, oak-structured foundation while still letting rye grain spice lead the experience.
This is a rye that drinks with a bourbon drinker’s comfort zone: rye spice is present and persistent, but it’s supported by deeper caramelized sweetness, toasted oak, and a richer mid-palate than many lean, grassy ryes. At 120.4 proof, the texture is thick and the finish is long; a few drops of water can dramatically widen the flavor range, pulling out more fruit, vanilla, and baking spice while softening the proof-driven heat.
