Mitchell’s Glengyle Ltd. is very proud to continue and contribute to the great Campbeltown distilling tradition, and the choice of name reflects that. Kilkerran is considered a suitable name for a new Campbeltown malt, as it was unusual for the old Campbeltown distilleries to be named after a Glen—a custom more commonly associated with the Speyside region.
Crafted at Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 11 features malted barley peated to ~45 PPM. Matured predominantly in ex‑bourbon (90%) and a splash of ex‑sherry (10%) casks, it’s bottled at natural cask strength with no chill filtration or added color.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Bright citrus—lemon and key‑lime pie—with peat smoke, toasted rye, and campfire embers
Palate: Bold peat balanced by toasted marshmallow, vanilla custard, earthy spices (pepper, ginger, cumin), salted caramel, and coastal minerality
Finish: Long, warming, and smoky with lingering black pepper, dried fruit, tobacco, and brine
