Seelbach's members spoke and we listened! An 8-year, cask strength, Kentucky Bourbon with a high-rye mash bill for less than $70? That's something I never thought we'd be able to do. If I'm being honest, we're still figuring out what Seelbach's Private Reserve is. As we evolve, your feedback is crucial to the decisions we make. The amount of people chasing quality and value has been overwhelming. Because of that, we started our own hunt. We stumbled across a lot of barrels that blew us away. These barrels are now part of the Seelbach's Private Reserve Core lineup. We plan to have this always available to our members. Because great bourbon should be available and accessible! 

Introducing Seelbach's Spirits' latest: an 8-year-old, barrel-proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon. It’s designed for true whiskey lovers and comes at a more affordable price. We take pride in our patience, waiting for exceptional whiskey to come our way. Our strong industry relationships and this philosophy have led us to remarkable barrels. This bourbon blend comes from two distilleries in Kentucky. It has a high-rye mash bill and is uncut and unfinished. This means it offers bold and rich flavors.

Tasting Notes: The nose begins fresh, creamy, and citrusy. Maple frosting and dark chocolate dipped orange slices on a late night drive through the rolling hills of Kentucky with the windows down. The longer you sit with it the more barrel presence is known, as well as more raspberry, toffee, and vanilla.

The palate begins round for its proof with a barrage of raspberry, flat grape soda, and dark cherry notes before an airy and effortless cascade of buttered toffee, soft milk chocolate, confectioner’s sugar and seasoned oak. Spiced cherry cola begins to rest on the sides of the mouth, flavors I’d often associate with Indiana aged Kelvins barrels.

The finish continues with slow brown sugar and overcooked caramel, but grows more into those juicy flat grape soda, black cherry and pepper notes in a long, dry, mature oak finish.
