Stranahan's Original Colorado Single Malt Whiskey is crafted from 100% barley, double-distilled from a unique blend of four Colorado-sourced malted barleys. Aged in virgin-charred American white oak barrels and Solera finished, this 4-year-old whiskey is cut with pristine Rocky Mountain water. With a robust 47% ABV, it offers rich caramel-butterscotch aroma and flavors of cinnamon-butter, vanilla, and spiced pear.
In 1994, volunteer firefighter Jess Graber was dispatched to fight a small fire at the Stranahan Barn just outside Denver. The owner of the barn — George Stranahan — was the founder and owner of Flying Dog Brewery, and eventually struck up a conversation with Graber once the fire had been eliminated. Together, the two teamed up in order to found Stranahan's Distillery, the first legal distillery in Colorado since Prohibition.
Stranahan's Original Colorado Single Malt boasts a burnt amber color. Its aroma is a delightful blend of caramel-butterscotch, vanilla, maple syrup, and leather. On the palate, experience cinnamon-butter, vanilla, chocolate, warm caramel, and spiced pear, flowing like table cream and melted brown sugar. The finish is light fruitiness, strong oak presence, with rich tobacco and aged leather.
